Monotone oil paintings, exploring tone using the Wipe Back method

About this event

The wipe back method was used by the old masters to develop a strong tonal base for their work.  This workshop teaches artists how to use this method to create interesting tonal works.  A great skill to possess in the lead up to the Art Society members exhibition Monotone later this year.

The workshop is suitable for beginners and also experienced artists who may not have used this technique before.

All materials are supplied, just bring an apron and some lunch.

Reference images will be supplied but if you have an image you'd like to paint then bring it along.  The reference will need to be printed in black and white, have strong tonal contrast and not too much detail.
