About this event
Fabio will demonstrate roosters and chickens and tutor his unique style of watercolour painting. He will use the fluidity of the medium to provide unexpected colour mixing. The work will lean towards realism, using diffused effects and shapes and capturing the contrast between loose and defined edges as well as shadow effects.
*note that the venue is still to be confirmed - it will not be at the Lady Franklin Gallery.
Bring some of your own reference photos.
Morning and afternoon tea provided, bring your own lunch.

Note: This is a list of materials Fabio uses but it’s a big list; he just tells participants what he uses.
You can use your own material (a couple of synthetic brushes, a couple of watercolour colours and some watercolour paper).

BRUSHES:
Synthetic Brushes only (Escoda, DaVinci, Winsor&Newton, Raphael, Princeton, etc):
Flat: 1/2”, 3/4” and 1”.
Round: number 10, 16 and rigger number 6.
DRAWING: Graphitone, Derwent 2b
PAPER: Arches, Fabriano , Hahnemuhle (Cézanne), Saunders, Watson or Baohong.
*I prefer Grain Fin, Cold Pressed, 140 lb.
You can use full sheets 30” x 22” (and cut them in half or quarters) or watercolor paper blocks.
PALETTE: Watercolor Palette: Silver Nano (Mijello).
EXTRA:
Paper Towel;
Masking Fluid (not necessary but sometimes I use it);
Any paper for sketches.
