For those of you who may not have heard, Roger passed away on 2nd August 2021 after a long battle with a chronic lung condition. He was stoic and accepting on the one hand, but not ready to go on the other as he still had so many ideas and dreams to fulfil. Right until the end he was working on an exhibition to be held at the Lady Franklin gallery in November 2021. Graciously, the Art Society of Tasmania have agreed to go ahead with this exhibition. It will be a Retrospective exhibition which will show the journey of Roger's art career. In his own words he has labelled it:
There will also be a comprehensive display of his many journals and sketchbooks, which were so often the inspiration for his larger seascape and shoreline oil paintings.
Unfortunately there will be very few works for sale as many of those on display will be borrowed back from clients and family.
The opening of the exhibition will be on Saturday 6th November 2021 at 11am – and then it will remain up for the month of November. Opening hours are Saturday and Sunday 11am – 4pm every weekend.
Please come and help celebrate the life of a talented and inspirational artist who loved to share his gift in an emotive and meaningful way.
